DREAMS! We all have them. Reoccurring thoughts and images are supposed to tell something or solve problems we are having. I am sure there is much more to them. Charlies Dogwood
Charlies Dogwood
My Nextdoor neighbor Charlie planted this beautiful Dogwood on his property next to my driveway. I loved to see it's beautiful blooms every year. It is always a plus when your neighbor really cares for their property. I am happy to say that I live in a neighbor where people care about their neighbors. I guess that is why I have lived in or owned three properties here within a stones throw. The first one I was raised in with my family. The second was my backyard neighbors house which I purchased to raise my family. Finally I sold that house to my youngest Daughter and bought the house, from a childhood friend, across the street to build my Studio.

Church Cove Start
Church Cove Start
Months ago I wrote about my Journey through the UK area known as Church Cove on the Lizard, with the Cornish Maid. It has been a very exciting and awaking experience. Never having the opportunity to use a video as a reference for a finished painting I learned so much. The possibility of creating a finished Oil Painting from a place I have never physically experienced didn't seem real. I think I may have psychically "Astral projection", travelled there during the creation of these six paintings.
It was such a good release for me to be able to express my inner feelings about these places and escape from all that is taking place in our real world. I can only hope that my work brings some comfort and escape for others.
Title: Church Cove Start, Medium: Oil on Linen, Size: 12 x 24", Price: $3000 USD
Path to Priory Park
Path to Priory Park
When I found this canvas I knew the image I wanted to paint. I have heard over the years many reasons Artists have for working in certain size canvas or boards. Mine reasoning is simple. I choose the appropriate size "Standard" canvas to portray the image. Why "Standard"? The most direct answer is, I am not a frame maker and standard is "less expensive" ;) Standard also makes it very easy for the client to change the frame.
The image is a continuation of my visit to the UK when I visited my family. I love the beauty that surrounds the towns and countryside. Living in Bucks County I appreciate the history and dedication of the people to keep their building, farms, and open landscapes! Almost everywhere you turn in the UK amazing views ;)

Mahoning County Court House
Mahoning County Court House
Geometric attraction is what drew me to this scene. The short story is I was living and working in Youngstown, Ohio in 2004. I would attend the Youngstown Kiwanis meeting which was held in the YMCA building located next to the Mahoning County Court House. I passed this scene and was attracted to the shapes. So I did some sketches and took many photos. I decided on a focus of limited but extreme perspective. A little bit of organized chaos much like the life I lead ;) I cropped the image into a difficult layout as a challenge in many ways. I started the painting in 2004. Changed the colors, highlights, shadows etc. many times until I finally put the Oil Painting away. I approached this image many times over the years but was never satisfied with the direction. Finally after completing several other difficult works I attacked this Oil Painting again. I'm glad I did. Hope you like it too.

Wood Wagon
Wood Wagon
This wagon is outside the Rolling Green gallery on Route 202 and Aquatong Rd. I was in an Art show at the barn and loved the venue and the property. I returned several times to more studies. Sometimes we find things and areas completely by accident. I hope the owner of this property can continue to sponsor the ARTS!

Rolling Green Barn Window
Rolling Green Barn Window
Rolling Green Farm is a beautiful site in Bucks County. This Oil Painting is the third I have created from the site. This view is looking out the window at the field behind the barn. There is this huge tree surrounded by Christmas trees across a vast field. I tried to capture the light of the day as it streamed into the window. It was an cloudy day and there was a haze to the light filtering into the room. Hope you like it! :)

Red Barn Stone Wall
Red Barn Stone Wall
Title: Red Barn Stone Wall, Oil on Canvas, 16 x 20". I completed a small study of this subject and decided to produce a full version. There are so many Bucks County Barns that are beautiful and waiting to be captured in Oils. The stone wall fascinated me because it was obvious it was built at two different time periods and the materials at that time each section was different. Price $3520.00 USD
Bird Box
Bird Box
This year 2018, I enjoyed Thanksgiving with Mrs. Smith and her daughter Karen A Smith at her home. Great home styled cooking and all the fixings. After we relaxed for a time and the cleanup was completed, Karen asked to take a ride to Tyler State Park in Newtown, Pa. It was a beautiful afternoon and a fantastic idea. The roads were clear on the way to the park and when we arrived it was practically empty. Good time to take a slow ride and enjoy the wildlife. As we entered the backside of the park we immediately encountered as series of the roadside "Bird Boxes" I was struck by this one because at first looked it appeared to be the letter "F" like the first letter in my last name. In reality it is a "7". I loved the seasoned weathered look of the box attached to the metal pole. Karen asked if I would like some photos of the box. When she looked at the photos at home she decided this was the best composition and I agreed. Karen and I do many collaborative projects together. I tried adding some new colors to my palette to enhance this Original Oil Painting. I hope you enjoy the result!
Title" Bird Box", Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size: 11 x 14". Price $1650 USD

Magnolias in Violetwood
Magnolias in Violetwood
Magnolias in Violetwood. 11 x 14", Oil on Canvas, Price: $1650.00 USD. This painting was a quick Alla Prima study. I liked the movement and colors. I approach this type of painting by letting the paint find its place. There is thought involved in the process but mostly it’s the feeling of applying the paint on the brush and letting things happen!
Garden Lilys

Johnson Hall Coffee House
Johnson Hall Coffee House
I needed to get out of the Studio for a few hours and relax with my Everything Karen. It was a beautiful sunny day September 9th. We left the Studio and proceeded to do some errands and while taking a stroll through Langhorne, Pa. I decided to go home via Hulmeville, Pa. where we stopped at the Johnson Hall Coffee House. The building had been recently reconstructed and majorly renovated into a beautiful and very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. There was various Art on the walls and soft music playing as we sipped our cappuccino, served in a beautiful blue coffee cup. As we were enjoying everything I took some mental notes for painting and some photos. Take some time to visit this place it's wonderful.

FIREFLOWER
FIREFLOWER
Title: FIREFLOWER, Medium: Oil on Linen, Size: 11x14", Price: $1650 USD. I was amazed when I first saw this Sunflower. I never saw a sunflower like this in my life. Maybe I have lived a sheltered life. Actually this flower came from Europe via Karen A Smith. Karen took the photo and gave me permission to paint it. The colors in life and the photo are extremely vivid. I tried to reproduce the effect as accurately as I could. I think it is breathtaking. It gave me a WOW moment. Hope you like the image :)
Sunflower Swirl
Sunflower Swirl
Title: Sunflower Swirl, Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size: 11 x 14". This painting is a little different color expression than I regularly paint. Artistic License! I try new things all the time. I like the way I feel when I look at this in the morning. It really wakes me up. Artist Karen Smith planted some sunflowers in my backyard. They are beautiful. Couldn't resist expressing how they glow in the sun. Price $1650.00 USD
Red Tulips
Red Tulips
Title: Red Tulips, Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size: 11 x 14", Price: $1650.00 USD. Every year i am amazed at the vibrant red color of these flowers and think about painting them. This year I did. I approached this composition as an abstract design. Looking down at the flowers offers an incite into the hidden world of the tulip. Paintings like this excite me and from the start I want them finished. Patience is a virtue I am blessed with. The flowers are many layers in order to build up the subtle shadows. Paintings are never finished but this one is very close. By the way, you could own this painting it is for sale!
White Blossoms
White Blossoms
This arrangement interested me in the movement across the canvas both in color and form. I like working with dark colors that seem to blend into one another.
Title: White Blossoms, Medium: Oil on Linen Panel, Size: 9 x 12", Price: $1210 USD.
Purple Vase
Purple Vase
Purple! It is not a difficult color to work with or mix. To get the exact purple color you want is another story. I remember in my classes years ago the instructor told the class of 20 to mix the color of a STOP Sign. None of us got it right. That was my problem with purple this week. It is too complicated too explain in detail but I went through every tube of purple, blue and red. Mixed many many combinations that didn't work. I went into the deep spaces of my oil paint drawer. There it was never opened BELLINI "Cobalt Violet". I purchased this tube of paint in 1972 from "Ralph" at the hardware store on Mill St. in Bristol, PA. I had to pry the cap off the tube, but it was still usable. And it solved the problem. I hope you like the results. It took a long time to get here!

Yellow Dandelion
Yellow Dandelion
Sometimes the simplest things make the strongest impressions. I felt this way when I started this little painting. It flew out of my head through my heart to my hand. This type of Oil Painting is nice to paint. Like the orange one I did earlier, it is not simple to paint in mainly one color. Not counting the flowers. I like the color contrast here. Hope you like it too.

British Jugs

Some Oil Paintings take longer than others. Not always for the same reasons. My Eldest Daughter Theresa May lives in the UK. She was voted UK top ten wedding photographers. I love her photos and this is one of them she took a while back. Finally finished it today. Thank you Theresa!!!

My thoughts were to paint a still life with a predominant (be the strongest or main element; be greater in number or amount) color. This is what I painted. I like it. Not easy at all.

Pick Me!
Pick Me!
Title "Pick Me", Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size 16 x 20", Price: $3520 USD. I think the frame is going to be a very important consideration for this painting. I like the way this painting worked out. At first it was a struggle but that is good for learning. I wrote previously "As an Artist I look at the world around me in a very special and amazing way. As the song says "Everything is Beautiful", "in it's own way". Sometimes I look at things as objects but for the most part I am... looking at shapes , color and Points of View. The subject is usually the last consideration. Then again there is always the exception. I saw theses Dolls sitting on a shelf at a friends store in Bristol, Pa., "Another Time Antiques" . Many time I would stop in to talk with Richard P. Vallejo (owner) and the Dolls were there staring. I photographed them many time but did nothing with them. Finally I placed them in a composition on a canvas to see how they would look. With a plane background they looked scary and not too exciting. So I added antique wall paper which sort of worked but needed to be more exact then I had planned on painting. I then saw some Art of an friend from my studio days. Aleta Cortes had published some photos of very beautiful cracked walls and other worn things and I thought it would fit perfectly(http://www.blurb.com/books/2836060-the-way-i-see-it). It worked fine but It needed more! Added the plant and not sure if I like it. Completed. Tell me what you think!"
Reflection
Reflection
Title "Reflection" Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size" 11 x 14", Price: $1650.00 USD. This painting is the second completed in my Car Series. My First was the 54' Chevy, this is a 57. 54 CHEVY
54 CHEVY
OLDIE but GOODIE
It’s that time of year again with all the local car shows popping up. I guess it's only natural to LOVE the cars you grew up with in your childhood and teen tears. This is one of those classic cars. It’s a 1954 CHEVY! The Oil Painting is Titled: "54 CHEVY", Medium: Oil on Canvas, Size: 16 x 20", Price: $3520.00 USD
Red Wheelbarrow
Red Wheelbarrow
Rolling Hills Barn has interesting subjects for local Artists. I saw this small wheelbarrow many time sitting out on the front porch. It weathered and aged look always amused me but I never photographed it. I was early dropping off a painting for a show at the barn and the light was just right to take some photos. The small Wheelbarrow may be used to display flowers, but I image a child playing and farming their own little garden with their grandparent.

Sunday Brothers
Another Bucks County Farm scene. This Oil Painting was inspired by Winslow Homers' painting "Boys in a Pasture". It also relates to my objective to paint what I have experienced. Scenes like this conjure up many memories of experiences in my life. Life was much easier when I was young. We needed less and appreciated what we had. Family!
Title: Sunday Brothers, Medium: Oil on Canvas Panel, Size: 9 x 12 in, Prive: $1210
Grazing in the Grass
Grazing in the Grass
The Art of MUSIC has been a big part of my life since childhood. Every morning, I would wake to the sound of my mother singing all the classic children's songs as well as the days popular music. Just thinking about it makes me smile. This made my mornings wonderful and full of joy. My sister and I would dance and sing along with her. what a way to start your day.
This attitude stayed with me throughout my life. I listen to and play music all day. It doesn't matter what music either. I believe it inspires my oil painting. With that thought in mind I decided to paint this and more to come.
Title: Grazing in the Grass, Medium: Oil on Linen, Size: 16 x 20 in, Price: $3520
I LOVE the FLOWER GIRL
I LOVE the FLOWER GIRL
Staying with the ideas of painting musical arts related images and images of women who have worked and served in many capacities in and around Bucks County I decided to paint the image. In the past I have given all the credit to my mother for raising me right with the proper values and morals. I truly believe the women in our country are not given enough recognition for their contributions in the workplace and at home. That probably hold true for the rest of the world also.
Title: I LOVE the FLOWER GIRL, Medium: Oil on Linen Panel, Size: 11 x 14 inches, Price: $1700

Hobbit Bird House
Hobbit Bird House
I enjoy doing Fantasy Type realistic Paintings. Many Artist past and present create these beautiful ideas. I have painted many birds from my yard in the past and thought it would be interesting to do something different. I love the imagery created in the movies on the sets of Hobbit type movies. Wanted to combine the two interest and this is my first attempt. Hope you like it!
Title: Hobbit Bird House, Medium: Oil on Linen Panel, Size: 8 x 10 in, Price: $1040
Open Door
Open Door
Looking out windows or doors is a common theme I use. It creates a feeling of two different environments in most cases. I think it means more than that to me because working in my studio is a safe place and then having the feeling of never knowing what to expect when I leave. It is the open door or window that lets you know what is happening outside. It is an open invitation to a journey. I explored this concept with this painting.
Title: Open Door, Medium: Oil on Linen Panel, Size: 12 x 12 inches, Price $1650
PLANTERS
I think it was about five years ago I started painting this Artwork. I was at the Fairless Hills Garden Center with Karen Smith walking around looking for interesting things to paint. Saw these pots and WOW! I don't care how much time I spend on a painting as long as it turns out the way I felt at the original scene. After five years I am there!!! I could spend another five if needed. I am happy with the results. Warning: Multiple circles!!!! Need I say more Title: PLANTERS, Medium: Oil on Linen, Size: 16 x 20 inches , Price $3600
